Kushin Mukherjee is a graduate student in the department of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his AB in Cognitive Science from Vassar College in 2019 with minors in Mathematics and Japanese. He also enjoyed a brief stint as a CSLI research intern at the Computation and Cognition Lab at Stanford University. Kushin is currently affiliated with the Knowledge and Concepts Lab in the department of Psychology and the interdisciplinary LUCID graduate training program.
Kushin’s primary interest is in the nature of visual concepts. How are they learned? Why are they useful? Can machines be taught these concepts? Using a combination of behavioral experiments and computational modeling techniques, he studies people’s drawings as a means to answer these questions.
